Welcome to the Aaron Barnett Memorial Scholarship for the year 2022. In 2021-2022, the ABF scholarship recipients were recognized for their exceptional achievements. The presentation and acceptance of the scholarships by students at the virtual ceremony on July 15, 2022, was a resounding success.
In 2022, the ABF Board was delighted to award the Aaron Barnett Memorial ICT/Cybersecurity fellowships to 16 high school seniors from the public schools throughout Southern California in San Bernardino, Riverside, and Orange Counties for a total of $18,400 in scholarships. We also awarded the ABF student ambassadors of 2021 an additional $600 for participating in the Article Writing Competition on topics of the current events in Cybersecurity which the ABF Board introduced in September 2021.
We congratulate Sara Daphne Magaziotis-Ginori of Oak Hills High School, Oak Hills, from Hesperia Unified School District, San Bernardino County, who achieved the highest score and won a total scholarship of $5000, including the Young Women Cybersecurity Award. By winning this award, she established herself as a role model, inspiring other younger women to choose a career in Cybersecurity.
Our heartiest congratulations go to the Troy High School students for winning a total of $6500 in scholarships from Orange County. From this group, we also recognize Zachary Dang for winning the President Award of $3000.
We especially appreciate our selection committee members' unwavering support and efforts to evaluate this year's scholarship applications.

Meet Our Board Members
Board of Directors
Aaron Barnett Foundation welcomes our Board of Members and proud to have them as mentors, experts with their commendable expertise in their own technical profession.
A dream, a vision, beckoning to become reality - drive the hallmark efforts of Moreno Valley Unified School District and Canyon Springs High School. Upon receiving a $642,000 Strong Workforce Program Grant for expanding their UC a-g approved district-wide Cyber Academic Pathway, the administration immediately began seeking and applying for a $3.5 million dollar facilities grant to build a state-of-the-art, NASA style, Cyber Innovation Center.
The intent of the center, is at the heart of everything Aaron Barnett strived to achieve through his investment and belief in students engaged in cyber education pathways. The center will encompass 7,000 square feet of cyber classroom labs; IT tech center; competition area; innovation center; mentoring conference rooms for hosting webinars and advanced instruction, hands-on work based learning stations with server racks and network equipment; Boe-Bot robotics, drones, and Raspberry Pi’s; and also serve as community outreach for professional development and cyber safety training for small business and community groups.
MVUSD educators and administration are finalizing the grant this week as submissions are due in December, with grant award notifications in the spring. In honor of his lifelong dedication, the MVUSD Information Technology Department, Cyber Educators, and Administration are seeking to have the new facilities, which is slated to open in 2021-2022, officially named, Barnett Cyber Innovation Center.
