WELCOME TO AARON BARNETT FOUNDATION
Recognized for his outstanding contributions and dedication to cyber education for students and industry professionals alike, Aaron Barnett received the Lifetime Achievement Award by CETPA posthumously in November, 2019.
Established in the same year, Aaron Barnett Foundation serves to empower young students in public schools in their pursuit of higher education and careers in Cybersecurity. Our Foundation mission and objectives are to develop, promote, and enhance cybersecurity programs and capabilities within the K12 education sector in California.
In this cybersecurity warzone, the education sector is now the main target of breaches. Education system networks are increasingly vulnerable in securing highly-priced assets, intellectual property, and critical privatized information included within student and staff data. Serving as an immense challenge for many school districts. As a countermeasure, districts seek to implement cyber curriculum programs within their schools and often face various obstacles in an attempt to teach cybersecurity to both current and future generations of students. ICT/Cyber career fields are relatively new and challenging to learn. The optimum goal is to engage students and keep them interested in considering cybersecurity as a career.
Aaron Barnett Foundation is committed to conquering these hurdles, by supporting school districts with innovative student cyber programs and focusing on hands-on training to ensure students are interested, engaged, and excited about future opportunities in cybersecurity.
Programs offered by Aaron Barnett Foundation will allow students to request financial support in addition to instructor nomination submissions. Aaron Barnett Foundation is focused on bringing our student and technology leaders together to protect the escalating attacks on global information systems which threaten national security, the world's economy, and our daily lives.
One of the main goals of Aaron Barnett Foundation is to prepare the younger generation to safeguard the nation's most valuable digital assets meeting the in-demand skills and leadership knowledge in the industry.
Aaron Barnett Foundation will encourage public schools to introduce cybersecurity curriculum that's continually assessed by top leaders within the industry to ensure students are learning the latest developments from the field. Every program will be designed to help K-12 students build, maintain, or protect resilient data systems which makes them a finely tuned cybersecurity leader in the fight against growing cybercrime.
