INAUGURAL AARON BARNETT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP, 2020
ICT/Cyber Security Student Fellowship-Inaugural Year 2020
May 02, 2020- The Aaron Barnett Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the Aaron Barnett Memorial Scholarships for the first time aimed at supporting the senior students of the Cybersecurity Pathway of Canyon Springs High School and Valley View High School in Moreno Valley Unified School District. Four exceptional candidates will be selected to receive scholarship awards of up to $6,000 who have received their acceptance letters or are intending to apply for college, with courses beginning September 2020.
Applying for scholarships started from 05-01-2020 and is open until 05-21-2020, 5:00 pm.
This year’s scholarship program is a pilot aimed at selecting four exceptional candidates who have a proven academic and achievement record and who will make a major contribution to the wider ICT/Cybersecurity global community.
“We are celebrating Aaron’s love of Cyber security and Technology with students he thrived to inspire, this is truly a dream come true. We are so excited for what the future holds as we continue to develop programs that align our mission and passion.” says the President of the Foundation, Zeina Ammar.
The Executive Director of the foundation Sabina Islam says, ”I’m excited to help promote this program, and hope this program will grow to adapt a better reflection of our organization’s mission across the community. We have developed a robust and user-friendly online application module, which is easy to use with a clear instruction to help applicants to complete the applications efficiently.”
She also expressed her utmost gratitude to other board members of the foundation for their continuous support and encouragement to keep Aaron’s legacy alive.
The scholarship selection committee representing the Aaron Barnett Memorial Scholarship comprises a diverse group of academic, community, government, and industry professionals who are committed to bringing equitable and thoughtful consideration to each scholarship applicant.
