There is a low percentage of women in the Cybersecurity field, and a scholarship program for young women would help change that.

Mauro is a first-year college student attending San Bernardino Valley College. He is currently reaching towards a career in technology. Mauro's intrigue in technology first began in middle school when enrolled in a technology class where he learned to code in python and was one of the only students able to unencrypt a code given by the instructor as a test. From there on Mauro joined a Cybersecurity class during his time at Cajon High School where his teacher acted as his mentor in the Cybersecurity field. Throughout the years enrolled in his Cybersecurity class, he participated in many different CTFs (Capture the Flag) and participated in the Cyber Patriot competition with his classmates as teammates. Currently, Mauro is in the process of finishing his general education in order to transfer to CSUSB for their Cybersecurity program. Asides from his interest in technology, Mauro also enjoys playing different sorts of videogames including rhythm games, as well as playing instruments like the guitar, piano, and ukelele. Mauro has shown his gratitude for all the help the Aaron Barnett Foundation has provided in helping Mauro reach his goal of higher education. The Aaron Barnett Foundation has helped Mauro financially as well as helped with providing technology for him to succeed in his journey to his career in Cybersecurity.
