Wendy and Aaron’s friendship was inevitable given Steve and Aaron’s deep and abiding respect for each other and their kinship. Wendy saw a man with a very big heart that was incapable of speaking ill of anyone. Nothing is more appealing than a smart, kind, big-hearted man with a large laugh and brains that made it all work to the benefit of friends, family, students and anyone in contact with him. We immediately became heart friends that spent countless hours sharing dinners, stories, heartaches and triumphs. Aaron was a friend that Wendy wanted to cook for, care for, and grow old with alongside Steve. Wendy’s daughter immediately called him Uncle Aaron and was honored to facilitate his Memorial Service. Being a part of the Aaron Barnett Foundation gives Wendy a way to stay in relationship with Aaron and others who deeply loved him.
